New Delhi, May 14: Famous Hindi poet and former politician Balkavi Bairagi passed away in Neemuch city of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday evening. He was 87. Bairagi had remained a minister in Madhya Pradesh from 1980-1984 and also Lok Sabha member from 1984-1989.
His son, Gaurki, informed that after returning from the event he went to take rest. He passed away while he was asleep. Balkavi Bairagi was also general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Congress Committee. Bairagi was widely famous for his works in poetry and he had also written songs for Bollywood.
Bairagi was born on 10th January 1931 in Rampur village of Mandsaur district. He had attained MA degree in Hindi language from Vikram University. He was food minister when Arjun Singh was chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.
His cremation will take place in Manasa city at 2 o’clock. A pay Bairagi a tribute, a shutdown for one day has also been announced in the Manasa city.
