New Delhi: Good news for people traveling from Delhi to Noida who often face heavy traffic. According to the reports, the Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway project is expected to gain momentum in the new year. Once the project becomes a reality, it will bring major relief to nearly 50,000 people who commute daily between Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad.
On normal days, taking the metro can take nearly two hours, which leaves office-goers particularly troubled. Once the FNG Expressway is completed, the distance between the two states will be reduced to just minutes, and traffic pressure will ease to a large extent.
It is important to note that the Nawab Singh Saini-led Haryana government has already included this project among its flagship initiatives. The Public Works Department (PWD) has submitted three possible alignments for the project to the government.
Here are some of the important details:
According to the proposal, a bridge of about 600 meters in length is to be constructed over the Yamuna River near Lalpur village.
The plan includes the construction of an approximately 9-kilometer-long road passing through Rivazpur and Tikawali villages near a private hospital in Sector 87.
The file related to the FNG Expressway remained pending at the Chief Minister’s Office for nearly two years.
Several meetings were held at different levels, but the work could not move forward due to the lack of budget approval.
A budget of around Rs 900 crore had been sought, which has now received final approval.
Experts say that if the budget is released on time, construction of the FNG Expressway could begin in the new year itself.
