Mumbai, Mar 6: A major fire has been reported at a godown in Kala Chowky area in Mumbai’s central part. Eight fire tenders and six water tankers are currently at the spot and trying to douse the major fire. The godown, which has caught fire, reportedly belongs to Eastel Metal Company. Senior officials from the fire department have reached the area and efforts are being made to put out the fire. Mumbai Police has sealed the main road leading up to godown where the major fire has been reported. Six jets are in operation for containment of Fire.
A rescue operation for stranded persons in nearby vicinity is underway. A couple of ambulances have also brought in. There was no immediate report of casualty or injury. Visuals from the sport showed tall flames shooting out from the godown, causing a thick blanket of black smoke in the area.
A major fire broke out in a godown in Dattaram Lad Marg, Kalachowky, Mumbai, on Tuesday morning. No casualties were reported.
