Fire at Mumbai's Scindia House Office Building: Five Stranded People Rescued

Mumbai, June 1:  A major fire broke out inside an office at Scindia House (Commercial) near Income Tax office, Ballard estate, here on Friday evening. Five fire tenders have been pressed into service. Five people were reported stranded but they have been rescued, said ANI. More details as to the cause of fire and the extent of damage caused are awaited. The blaze apparently started on the third-floor of the multi-storeyed building.

The Quint quoted a fire brigade official as saying, “Our control room received information at 4:55 pm about a fire erupting on the third floor of the ground-plus-six-storeyed building. Five fire engines, four water tankers along with adequate number of fire brigade personnel were rushed to the site to douse the flames.”

Earlier in the day, a fire had broken out at a shop selling fuel illegally in Meerut. Two people were injured, said ANI. More details are awaited in that accident as well.
