Raipur, Nov 29: Fire broke out in Sadar Bazar area of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. As per reports 5 fire tenders immediately pressed into service. Earlier this month, twelve auto-rickshaws were destroyed in a fire in Burail area of Chhattisgarh. The police then started the probe to check whether the auto-rickshaws were set on fire or it was an accident. Chhattisgarh has been in limelight for Naxalite activities. As per reports by ANI, more than 50 banks in Naxal-hit areas of the state have recorded deposits of nearly Rs. 20 crores within two weeks. Based on an intelligence report, transactions in these accounts have been put on hold.
Earlier this month, two women Naxals surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Narayanpur district on Sunday. As per reports by PTI, the two women allegedly belonging to cultural wing of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), wanted to join the mainstream as they were disillusioned with the Maoist ideology, said a senior police officer. Congress on Monday organised rallies in at district headquarters in Chhattisgarh as part of ‘Jan Akrosh Diwas’ to protest against the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
