Karol Bagh Fire Tragedy: Delhi Police Arrest Absconding Hotel Owner From IGI Airport
Earlier, the police had arrested hotel’s general manager, Rajender, and manager, Vikas, for culpable homicide. The hotel owner had been absconding since the incident.
Kapil Goel, owner of Hotel Arpit Palace, arrested by Delhi Police
New Delhi: Five days after the massive fire at Hotel Arpit Palace in Delhi’s Karol Bagh left 17 people dead, the police on Sunday arrested its owner Rakesh Goel.
The Crime Branch made the arrest from the IGI Airport on Saturday after the Delhi Police received a tip off that Goel was travelling from Qatar by Indigo flight 6E 1702. He will produced in the court later in the day.
The immigration officials were alerted as a look out circular (LOC) was issued against him. On his arrival, he was detained and handed over to the Crime Branch. Goel was arrested after brief questioning, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Deo said.
