Mumbai, July 19: India’s popular radio jockey Malishka Mendonsa has landed in a controversy after her Sonu Song Parody – ‘Mumbai tula BMC var Bharosa Nai Kai’ – (Mumbai…don’t you have faith in BMC) went viral on social media. RJ Malishka, who has been on target of ruling Shiv Sena since the video song created buzz, has now received notice from the BMC for mosquito-breeding at her house in Bandra. The viral video song of RJ Malishka was a dig at Shiv Sena-controlled BMC for its ill-preparedness during monsoon. The BMC has issued a notice under section 381 B of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act to RJ Malishka after mosquitoes were allegedly found breeding in a routine survey at her 6th floor flat at sun-rise apartments in Pali Naka. Aedes mosquitoes breeding was found in a clay bowl kept under a pot as well as indoor breeding in plant pots at RJ Malishka’s flat, said the BMC notice. “We carried out a routine inspection in Bandra on Tuesday, after which the notice was issued,” Sharad Ughade, ward officer of Bandra told Hindustan Times. Interestingly, this comes after two Shiv Sena leaders met BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta and asked him to file a Rs 500-crore defamation suit against RJ Malishka and the 93.5 Red FM, the radio station where she works. “The song does not mentions Shiv Sena, but it hurts Mumbai and the BMC… he whole aim of the song created by RJ and her team is to malign a public body and mislead citizens,” Shiv Sena leader Samadhan Sarvankar was quoted as saying. RJ Malishka is a celebrity by herself. She trained Bollywood actress Vidya Balan for her role of a RJ in 2006 hit film Lage Raho Munnabhai. She made guest appearance in many seasons of popular reality show Bigg Boss.
