New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul’s son, Shubanso Pul was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the UK. The news was confirmed by family sources on Tuesday.

Family sources told news agency PTI that Shubanso (20), who was studying at a university in the UK, was found dead at his apartment in Brighton in Sussex. As per updates, Shubanso was the son of Pul’s first wife Dangwimsai Pul.

The family of Shubanso Pul is trying to get in touch with the Indian High Commission in the UK to bring back his body.

Kalikho Pul became the chief minister of Arunchal Pradesh for a brief period in 2016 with the support of a few elected members of the Congress and the BJP. However, he had to step down after the Supreme Court gave a ruling against his appointment. Later, Pul allegedly hanged himself at his official residence in Niti Vihar on August 9, 2016.

Kalikho Pul’s first wife Dangwimsai Pul later moved the Supreme Court seeking a probe into the death and allegations of massive corruption mentioned in her husband’s suicide note. After the incident came to limelight, the BJP gave a ticket to his third wife, Dasanglu Pul to contest the by-elections from Hayuliang, which she won.
