New Delhi: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah landed himself in trouble after he was caught snatching a mic from a woman complainant, which resulted in her dupatta (stole) being pulled off. The incident took place at an event in Mysuru. A video of the incident has gone viral.

According to the reports, Siddaramaiah lost his cool when the woman informed the former CM that she is unable to get in touch with MLA Yathindra, who is his (Siddaramaiah) son. After hearing this, Siddaramaiah started yelling at her and snatched her mic. In the process, the woman’s dupatta also came off in front of the crowd.

Following the incident, the BJP came down heavily on the Congress party and accused the former Karnataka CM of outraging the woman’s modesty.

“Congress should issue an apology and must take appropriate action against Siddaramaiah for his gesture”, Senior BJP leader S Prakash asserted.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, while addressing a press conference also slammed the grand old party  and said,”Rahul Gandhi should tell what he’ll do with him. This is a crime, the way he abused her. That’s how they see women, they haven’t changed since the tandoor case. They only respect women from one family.”

Karnataka minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, however, defended the former Chief Minister saying,”Sometimes when people start asking questions in a rough way and after hearing them out when they don’t stop, you want to pull the mic. When pulling the mic the dupatta came along with. There was no such intention.”
