Former PDP Leader Altaf Bukhari Launches His Political Outfit 'Apni Party', Vows to Preserve Dignity of People of J&K

New Delhi: Altaf Bukhari, former Peoples Democratic Party leader and minister in the Mehbooba Mufti government in Jammu & Kashmir,  launched his own political outfit ‘Apni Party’ on Sunday.

Over 30 leaders, including Ghulam Hassan Mir, former minister and chairman Democratic Party Nationalist, former MLAs of PDP–Dilawar Mir, Noor Mohd Sheikh, Ashraf Mir and Former Congress MLAs- Farooq Andrabi, Irfan Naqib  are expected to join hands with Bukhari.

Talking to reporters on the launch of his political outfit, Bhukhari launched a veiled attack on PDP and NC, saying that his party is not floated by a ‘family’. “It is by the commoners, for the commoners and of the commoners. There will be total restriction that anybody who becomes President of party cannot be elected more than 2 times”, stated the former PDP leader.

He vowed to preserve the self-respect and dignity of people of Jammu and Kashmir, dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits, empowerment of youth and women.

“We’re not here to sell dreams and fantasies but will always be pragmatic, honest and fair in our approach. We have resolved to create a political platform where people are real stakeholders of the political process”, Bukhari added.
