New Delhi: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Saturday injured his right leg after he slipped and fell in the bathroom of his house in Bengaluru. News agency ANI reported that 85-year-old Janta Dal (Secular) President is having difficulty in walking.
Deve Gowda’s son Dr. Ramesh visited his residence to check on his condition, following which the former Prime Minister was taken to a hospital near his Padmanabhanagar residence this morning.
The hospital confirmed the injury as minor, with doctors attending to him stating that his right knee had a sprain and there was no fracture.
On Friday, former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Deve Gowda had said that his son — Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has been hurt by some Congress leaders taking potshots at him. The JD(S) chief further warned that he cannot remain silent on the matter anymore.
He had added, “Is this any way to run a coalition government, where every day you have to request your coalition partner to not make unparliamentary remarks.”
Gowda had also asserted that he has suffered much pain in the last six months when the government was formed in a post-poll alliance. “I am in pain. Six months have completed since Kumaraswamy became Chief Minister. All kinds of things have happened in these six months, till now I have not opened my mouth but I can’t keep quiet now,” news agency ANI had quoted the JD(S) chief as saying.
