New Delhi: In a suspected case of murder-suicide, Mumbai Police on Saturday found highly decomposed body of four members of a family, including two minor children from a flat in Taloja Apartment, Navi Mumbai. The deceased were identified as Nitesh Upadhyay an online trader from Delhi, , his wife Babli Devi (30), their son and daughter, aged seven and eight respectively. If reports are to be belived, the incident came to light when the landlord failed to get any response from Nitesh even after making repeated calls since the last one-and-half months for payment of rent.

After unlocking the door of the flat, the landlord found Mitesh, his wife and their children hanging from the ceiling. The owner immediately informed the police.  The bodies,  that were decomposed beyond recognition were sent for the post mortem.



Speaking to reporters, DCP Ashok Dudhe said, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide and strangulation seems to be the cause behind their deaths. We are probing all angles of the case”.

Police officials have also recovered a suicide note in which it was written that nobody should be blamed for their deaths. Nitesh had requested that all the dead should be cremated as per Hindu rituals.
