Speaking at the launch of Vande Bharat Express, PM Modi assured the nation that those behind this inhuman act will be punished in the strongest way. “Our neighbour thinks that by doing such crimes on our soil, they can weaken us, but they will have to pay a hefty price for it. In the wake of Pulwama terror attack, India announced the withdrawal of the Most Favoured Nation status to Pakistan at the United Nations and launched the diplomatic offensive against Pakistan. All major nations have condemned the terror act.

Meanwhile, a 12-member team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) which will be led by an IG rank officer, will also go to the blast site on Friday to assist the Jammu and Kashmir Police in forensic evaluation of the spot. Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Srinagar later in the day.

At least 44 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed and several others injured in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus they were travelling in. The Pakistan-based JeM claimed responsibility for dastardly attack in Lethpora on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area around 3.15 PM.
