Gandhi Nagar, Surat, Ahmedabad Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured mammoth victories in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, and Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha constituencies, with Home Minister Amit Shah registering a record-setting win from the Gandhinagar seat.
Shah, who was pitted against Sonal Patel from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, secured over 10 lakh votes, defeating his Congress rival by a margin of over 7.4 lakh votes.
In Ahmedabad East, BJP’s Dineshbhai Makwana also won by a thumping margin of 4,61,755 votes while Hasmukhbhai Patel also breezed through easily in Ahmedabad West by a margin of 2,86,437 votes.
Notably, all four seats– Gandhinagar, Surat, and Ahmedabad East as well as Ahmedabad West are considered as bastions of the BJP, with the ruling party having a 100 percent strike rate in Ahmedabad East and West, since these constituencies were carved ahead of the 2009 Lok Sabha Polls.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 threw up more than a few surprises on Tuesday as the Congress-led opposition INDIA bloc inched towards a majority, while the ruling BJP-led NDA expected to fall short of the 300 seat mark.
Speculations are rife that INDIA bloc may contact former ally-turned-foe Nitish Kumar and Telugu Desam Party Chief (TDP) Chandrababu Naidu– both considered “misfits” in the NDA– to “join hands against the BJP”.
In such a scenario, the Janata Dal (United) chief and the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister will become kingmakers, as both alliance will make bids to woo them.
Counting of votes for the Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, and Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha constituencies will begin at 8 AM today.
