Mumbai, Sept 5: The Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Ganpati Visarjan on Tuesday, the last day of Ganesh Utsav. Appealing to Mumbaikars to make sure the visarjan goes hassle-free, the police have issued traffic guidelines for several immersion points in Mumbai including Girgaon Chowpatty, Juhu Beach and Versova Beach. According to the advisory, 53 routes will remain closed, and 54 routes are marked ‘one way’ on Ganesh Visarjan. As many as 99 places have been notified as ‘no parking zone’. The visarjan procession at most of the places is likely to begin between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. The procession for the famous Lalbaugcha Raja will begin at 10 am from Lalbaug market. It will then head to Bharat Mata Theater, Sane Guruji Marg, and further to Byculla Railway Station, Clare Road and Nagpada. It will then proceed to Dunkan Road and then Don Taki and Sant Sena Maharaj Marg in Kumbharwada. From there, the procession will move to Suthar Gully, Madhav Baug and CP Tank before proceeding to Opera House and finally ending at Girgaum Chowpatty. The immersion will finally take place the next day at 8 am. Mumbai has also been put on high alert ahead of Ganpati Visarjan with at least 40,000 police personnel deployed throughout the city. Meanwhile, 8 special local trains have been announced for post midnight operations for Ganpati Visarjan. Central Railways has announced to run 8 special trains on Ganesh Visarjan.

Central Railways will run special trains on Central and Harbour lines for devotees going to immerse Ganesh idols. Two special trains on up and down routes between CSTM and Panvel will run on Tuesday. On central line, a CSTM bound train will leave Kalyan at 1 am and another will depart from Thane at 2 am.
