Suman Haripriya, the BJP MLA from the Hajo Assembly constituency, said that this is because cow urine and cow dung are useful in curing deadly diseases like cancer. “We all know that cow dung is very helpful. Likewise, when cow urine is sprayed, it purifies an area,” PTI quoted her as saying. Also Read - Deepika Padukone Cancels Paris Fashion Week Tour Ahead Of Coronavirus Scare

“I believe something similar could be done with gaumutra and gobar to cure coronavirus,” she said during a discussion on smuggling of cattle to Bangladesh on the first day of the budget session of the Assembly. She further remarked that Bangladesh’s economy has been strengthened on the back of cows being smuggled from India and called upon the state government to monitor the cattle markets in the state, alleging that illegal trading was being carried out by those working in cattle markets.

The BJP MLA’s comments come on a day two more positive cases of coronavirus-one in Delhi and another in Telangana-were reported in the country, taking the total number of coronavirus cases here to five.

More than 25,700 people across the country have been kept under community surveillance while 37 people suspected to have its symptoms are currently hospitalised.

China, thus far, has witnessed 2,912 deaths due to coronavirus.
