36-year-old HL Suresh was arrested in Tumakuru on Wednesday and produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court, which remanded him in judicial custody, a SIT release said on Thursday. Also Read - 23-year-old Arrested for 24 Criminal Cases in Gurugram's Badshahpur

Sources in the SIT claimed that Suresh had provided shelter to Parashuram Waghmare, who allegedly pulled the trigger, killing Lankesh outside her house here. Also Read - Bizarre! Man Shoves Whole Samosa up his Rectum to Sneak it into His Prison Cell

With this, a total of 11 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the case.

Earlier, the SIT had arrested two more suspects in connection with the Gauri Lankesh murder case. Amit and Ganesh were arrested from Hubli on Sunday and were produced before the third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court on Monday. The court has sent them into police custody till August 6.

This comes after SIT arrested the seventh suspect in connection with the murder case. A person identified as Mohan Nayak, was arrested from Karnataka’s Dakshin Kannada district. He was later sent to six-day police custody by a local court.

Till now, Parshuram Waghmare, KT Naveen Kumar alias Hotte Manja, Amol Kale, Manohar Edve, Sujeeth Kumar alias Praveen and Amit Degvekar have been arrested in the case.

Lankesh, known for her vociferous anti-Hindutva stand, was shot dead on September 5 last year.

Her killing drew widespread condemnation from various quarters.
