New Delhi: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Gayatri Prasad Prajapati who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police from Alam Bagh in Lucknow on Wednesday rubbished all the allegations levelled against him and said,”This is a conspiracy against me. I am ready for narco test.”  Missing since February 27, Prajapati who has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Lucknow court demanded that both (Victim and Prajapati) should be put through narco test. He is being framed by rivals but he has full faith in country’s judicial system.

Prajapati was booked on a Supreme Court directive and an FIR was lodged on February 17 against the minister and six others for allegedly gang-raping a woman and alleged attempt to rape her minor daughter. The apex court had asked the UP Police to submit an action taken report regarding the incidents in eight weeks. As the tainted minister was being taken to custody in a luxury vehicle, questions were raised by Samajwadi Party’s rivals as to how he could get the facility. With photographs of Prajapati travelling in an SUV going viral on social media and news channels, he was soon shifted to a police vehicle while being taken to court.

Prajapati is accused of raping a woman and molesting her minor daughter in 2014. The last time Prajapati was seen in public was 17 days back. His arrest comes days after BJP’s outstanding victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017.

Earlier in the day, UP ADG Daljeet Choudhary confirmed the arrest of Gayatri Prajapati. He said that all seven accused have been arrested and the matter will be forwarded to the court for final decision. However, his lawyer Jai Bansal had said, “All allegations against him are politically motivated,” as reported by CNN-News18.
