Ghaziabad, Dec 28: A traffic head constable has been booked for assaulting a 14-year-old boy in a drunken state. The incident took place on Tuesday night in his apartment complex in Rajnagar Extension. The accused, identified as Ravinder Singh, live in the same building as the victim. The boy was returning home from a birthday party when constable Ravinder Singh stopped him and started talking to him about his school and studies. After a while, Singh kissed the boy and invited him over to his apartment. “Singh suddenly kissed him on his cheek and asked him to come inside his flat and close the door. The boy rushed to his own flat and told his parents about it,” a police official was quoted as saying by Times of India. The boy has not recieved any injuries. The parents of the victim have registered a complaint against Singh under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) including sections 342 (wrongful confinement) and sections 7 and 8 (sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

“The statement of the boy has been recorded. The traffic wing where Singh is posted has also been informed,” the officer added.

This is the second such incident that has been reported in last two days from Ghaziabad. On Wednesday, December 27, a private school bus driver was arrested for assaulting a 13-year-old student of class 8 student inside the school van at Indirapuram in Ghaziabad.
