New Delhi, July 24: In yet another shocking incident,a Muslim man from Madhya Pradesh was allegedly beaten up by members of a right-wing organisation at marriage registrar office in Ghaziabad as he wanted to marry a Hindu girl. The victim identified as Sahil works at a company in Noida and fell in love with his colleague Preeti Singh, a girl from Bijnor. The duo decided to tie the knot but their parents were not in the favour of their marriage. “After they fell in love, they decided to marry as their parents were not agreeing. The girl is a Rajput by caste and the man was Muslim. The couple wanted to register their marriage at Ghaziabad court as a friend told that it is safe and easy process there,” The Hindu quoted a police official as saying. On Monday, when Preeti and Sahil reached the Ghaziabad court to meet an advocate, a crowd  barged into the advocate’s chamber and started a scuffle with the man. However, police reached the spot immediately and took the couple to the Sihani Gate police station. A video of the assault inside the court premises has gone viral on social media.

Though the couple refused to file any complaint, the police took suo-motu cognisance and registered case against 2 known and several unidentified people.
