Counting of votes polled in the high-stakes Delhi Assembly election began on Tuesday morning amid tight security at various centres set up to carry out the exercise. A total of twenty one centres for counting of votes were set up in the city-state, according to Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ranbir Singh. The Ghonda assembly seat is located in the North East Delhi district of Delhi and is currently held by Shri Dutt Sharma of AAP. In 2015, AAP’s SD Sharma had won this constituency with 60906 votes. BJP’s SS Chaughan had got 52813 votes and INC’s RS Chadudhary had got 18892 votes.
A residential area of North East Delhi district, Ghonda is one of the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi and covers prominent areas such as Subhash Vihar, North Ghonda, Bhajnpura, Pahadi mauhalla, Gamri, Yamuna Vihar.
