Panaji, Jun 9: The runway at Dabolim Airport in Goa will be closed till 10 PM on Saturday. Fault in runway lighting system is said to be the reason behind the disruption in the operation at Goa Airport. As per news agency ANI, all flights to and fro from Goa have been delayed.
In a similar incident on May 23, a few Goa-bound evening flights were either diverted or delayed following electrical faults in runway lights at Dabolim Airport. The flight operations were hampered till 10.30 PM back then.
Due to fault in runway lighting system at Dabolim Airport in Goa, runway is not available till 10 pm. Navy Technical Team working on the fault. All flights to & from Goa are delayed.
“They say that runway lights have been closed due to some electrical faults. I don’t know what the actual fault is, but flights are being diverted and delayed,” the officer had said under the condition of anonymity.
