Margao, Jan 31: The principal of a school allegedly assaulted a 13-year-old boy in Goa’s Margao. According to the police, the principal even threatened the boy to not to come to school in future. A police officer, while speaking to ANI, said, “We received complaint that Principal (of school in Margao) assaulted the minor boy and threatened him to not come to school in future. As per the police sources, the incident happened on Saturday when the boy was made to kneel outside the class as punishment by one of his teachers. The Principal Basil Vago, who was passing by, allegedly thrashed the child mercilessly and even hit his head against the wall.

The boy was admitted to the hospital after he complained of pain and began vomiting on returning home. He has reportedly suffered internal injuries.

The Margao town police has booked an offence against Vago under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506-ii (criminal intimidation) and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.
