Greater Noida, July 26: A three-storey building collapsed in Mubarakpur on Thursday. The three occupants of the building have been rescued safely and no casualties have been reported. Initial reports suggest a basement was being constructed adjacent to the building, said ANI.
This comes a couple of days after a portion of a three-storey building collapsed in Bhiwandi, leaving one dead and six injured. In the case, the government had blamed the builder, saying that the building was just six years old. On Sunday, a building had collapsed in Missal Gadi in Ghaziabad where two people had lost their lives. The labourers have alleged that the builder forced them to keep working despite a crack which was visible in the building. Five labourers have been rescued so far and eight people are still said to be trapped, a police official said. The same day, one person was killed and at least 28 others were injured after a Coimbatore-based hospital collapsed in Chennai’s Kandanchavadi area. The victims, mostly migrant labourers, had night shift and were trapped in the debris after the collapse. Those who sustained severe head injuries were immediately hospitalised.
