New Delhi: With the launch of long awaited Goods and Services Tax (GST)  in the historic Central Hall of Parliament at midnight on June 30, many companies have decided to offer bumper discount from July 1. Most of the brands including Levi’s, Nike, Adidas kick started their sale from the beginning of June. There were flat 40-50% off, buy 2 Get 1 and many other discounts on top footwear, clothing fashion line but there are few brands which will begin sale after GST rollout. Big Bazaar: Between 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM on June 30th and July 1st, Big Bazaar will open its door and offer special bonanza called GST Muhurat shopping. Under this offer, customers will receive Rs 300 in their Future Pay wallet, each time they spend Rs 1000 or more. As per the reports of The Indian Express, several food and home products will have discounts ranging from 5% – 22%. Pantaloons: Pantaloons, which sells products from multiple brands will offer 50% discount when buyers shop worth 8, 000. There are also 50 percent on different apparel brands. The post-GST sale will contine for one month.

Zara: Clothing and accessories retailer Zara will offer flat sale on its product . While talking to India.com one of its manager said that the offer will last for one month.

Westside: Clothing brand Westside like some of the other brands, will also offer bumper discount upto 60 per cent on its apparel post new tax regime.

Dubbed as the most significant economic reform GST is expected to add as much as 2 percentage points to the GDP growth rate besides raising government revenues by widening the tax net. From July 1, 2017, GST will replace all indirect taxes like service tax and VAT.
