New Delhi, June 30: The Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be implemented from July 1. The government has planned a big launch function on the night of June 30 in Parliament’s main hall. All the MPs, the CJIs of high courts, CJI of the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, all the MPs, CMs, and finance ministers of all the states are being invited for the midnight function. The GST is an indirect tax which will subsume all the other indirect taxes levied by the Centre and states. All the goods and services have been characterised into 5 tax slabs– 0%, 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. Here is the list of goods that are being placed under 0 to 5%. (Also read: What is GST?
