Ahmedabad, May 19: In a morning accident, 19 people were killed and 7 injured when a truck toppled over on the Bhavnagar-Ahmedabad highway. The truck was carrying cement bags. The accident occurred near Bavalyali village, said reports. Local district and police officials were on the spot and rescue operations were on. The injured were being moved to the hospital. The cause of the accident is not yet known. More details are awaited.

Only last month, 13 schoolkids had died when their school van collided with a train on an unmanned railway crossing in Kushinagar town in Uttar Pradesh. The incident was reported between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM and the van driver also died in the accident. The van had 25 students of Divine Public School aboard. Of which, 11 are reportedly killed in the incident. It has been reported that seven of the total 25 students have received serious injuries. The injured students have been admitted to a local hospital. One of the eyewitnesses reportedly said that the location where the incident took place usually has one staff of the railways in presence. However, that day no one was present at the junction where the bus was crossing the railway tracks.
