New Delhi, December 1: With just eight days left for the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections, both Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress are leaving no stones unturned. Modi had hit the campaign trail on Monday and addressed public meetings in Bhuj, Kutch, Jasdan, Dhari and Kamrej. He countered Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, the Opposition on issues raised by them. He once again raked up the corruption issue that costed Congress heavily in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and state polls since then. Gujarat has a total number of 182 assembly seats and the polling will be held in two phases. Voting in 89 constituencies of Saurashtra and South Gujarat region will be held in the first phase while the remaining 93 constituencies in central and northern regions will be held in the second phase.
The polling for the first phase will be held on December 9 and the second phase will be held on December 14. The votes will be counted on December 18.
