Ahmedabad, Dec 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday cast his vote at polling booth number 115 in Sabarmati’s Ranip as the polling for the Phase 2 of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 was underway. Earlier in the day, PM’s mother Heeraben had cast her vote in Gandhinagar.
PM Modi arrived at the polling booth in Ranip around 12 pm after which he greeted the huge crowd gathered outside. Before casting the vote, the PM touched the feet of his brother Som Modi. (Click here for LIVE Updates on Gujarat polls)
Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti leader Hardik Patel cast his vote in his home town in Viramgam. After casting his vote on Thursday, Patel said, “I have cast my vote, whatever happens will be good.” Speaking to Zee News after voting, Patel said that the BJP will lose these elections and that the Congress is likely to emerge winner. To India TV, he said that the Congress will get about 100 seats in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also cast his vote in Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel had cast his vote in Mehsana’s Kadi.
The voting for the first phase of Gujarat polls was held on December 9 and a total of 68 per cent voter turnout was recorded. The counting of votes will be conducted on December 18.
