Gujarat: Daughter And Son-in-law Beat Elderly Woman, Throw Her Out of House

The incident came to light when a video was uploaded on the social media in which a woman could be seen beaten up by her own daughter.

Ahmedabad, June 19: An elderly woman was allegedly beaten up and dragged out of the couple’s house in Chhotaudepur district of Gujarat on Sunday, June 17. The incident came to light when a video was uploaded on the social media in which a woman could be seen beaten up by her own daughter.

The incident happened in Velpur village under Sankheda taluka and immediately went viral when uploaded on the social media. In the video, two people could be seen mercilessly beating up the elderly woman. The man even tried to tie up the woman which the woman resisted.

“We sent a police team to Velpur village to probe the incident after the video surfaced. The persons seen beating up the woman in the video are her daughter and son-in-law,” a police officer said.

When police reached the village and interrogated, the couple told them that the elderly woman is mentally ill and was trying to attack the couple with a knife.

“The accused claimed the woman is mentally unstable. They said they were trying to stop her after she attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon,” he added.
