Surat: A fire broke out in Surat’s Vesu area on Monday evening. At least five fire tenders have been pressed into service to control the raging blaze.

More than 50 people are stranded in the building where the fire has broke out. The building where the blaze started had a tuition class and hence many children are also trapped inside the premises. The fire department officials are trying to save the children from the raging fire.

Several of those rescued have been shifted to a hospital. The evacuation process is still underway.

Earlier today, at least four people from one family, including two minors, were killed when a fire broke out following the explosion of an LPG cylinder in eastern Nepal.

The incident took place in Nepal’s Jhapa district on Sunday when a two-storey wooden house turned into ashes after the LPG cylinder exploded spreading the fire due to the 40 litres of diesel stored in the house.

The dead included two adults and two minors including a four-month-old, police said.
