Ahmedabad, Nov 9: A new viral video has emerged which shows four men on two bikes chasing a couple of lions and bullying them. According to reports, the video was shot inside Gujarat’s famous Gir National Park and forest department has nabbed four person in this connection.
The video shows four men, who for the sake of fun perhaps, chase the lion and the lioness. While the big cats sought to rest, the men continuously chased them to the other side of the road at one point separating the two animals. Moments later, the lions unite and the men leave.
Lions in the Gir are known to be less aggressive towards human beings and perhaps that is the reason these men left unharmed from the spot. However, at a point of time they seemed concerned that the lions might attack them from behind.
While they did this stunt, harmed the peace of the lions and felt ‘brave’, the situations could have turned fatal in seconds. So here we explain why it was a terrible idea.
Firstly, violating the personal space of lions is never a good idea. They are called King of the Jungle for no other reason.
Secondly, chasing them on bikes is in itself idiotic enough for these men. Perhaps they underestimated the strength of lions. If the lion would have been an aggressive one, it would have taken only minutes before it killed all the four of them, and here there were two of them, so it would have taken half the time.
Thirdly, this act could have been perceived by the animals as a threat, which they perhaps already did, and might have imbalanced the otherwise co-habitual nature of lions in the Gir.
The only reason why the lions perhaps did not attack the men seems to be that they were not hungry at that moment.
While the forest department nabbed four person in connection to this case, it is upto them to make sure that similar instances of bullying animals are curbed.
