Terrorists ambush army vehicle near Kashmir's Gulmarg; two soldiers, as many porters killed, 3 personnel injured

Two soldiers and two civilian porters were killed while three soldiers were injured after terrorists ambushed an army vehicle in Gulmarg in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday.

Gulmarg terror attack: In yet another major attack in Kashmir, two soldiers and as many civilian porters were killed, while at least three other Army personnel sustained injuries after an army vehicle was ambushed by terrorists near hill resort Gulmarg on Thursday evening. As per reports, the attack took place near the Nagin post in Botapathri area in Baramulla district in north Kashmir when a small convoy of Army's 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), was on its way to the camp.

One of the convoy came under indiscriminate fire from terrorists near Nagin post, resulting in the deaths of two army porters and as many soldiers. Three soldiers have also sustained injuries in the attack, which took place on Thursday evening, according to media reports.

However, an official confirmation about the number of casualties and injuries in the ambush is awaited.

"Some exchange of fire took place between forces and terrorists in Butapathri sector of District Baramulla around Nagin post. Further details will be shared after verifying facts," Baramulla Police had said in a statement earlier.

The attack came hours after a non-local labourer hailing from Uttar Pradesh was shot at by terrorists in Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district in southern Kashmir.

On Sunday, five labourers and a doctors were gunned down by terrorists in Ganderbal district.
