Gurgaon, Dec 27: A student of Mewat Model School studying in class 12 was found dead in her hostel room on Tuesday in Nuh. Police suspect the girl identified as Renu committed suicide as her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. However, her parents do not agree with the police version and claim it is a case of homicide.
According to the hostel warden, Renu had retired to her room after dinner. Later the warden found her body hanging from the ceiling fan in her room with sources adding that the school administration was informed about the incident.
The body was brought down by the police who were apprised of the tragedy. Police officials investigating the case say they will register an FIR once the family is ready to give a statement.
According to The Times of India report, the postmortem is scheduled on Wednesday and the body has been kept in the morgue of Shaheed Hassan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, Mewat.
Renu lived with her family in Nuh, and her house was 200 metres from the school. However, Renu had shifted to the hostel around two months back so that she could concentrate on the upcoming board examinations. Renu’s father Rohtash told TOI, “I had sent her to the hostel so that she could study well and focus on her exam preparation. She never gave a hint of being unhappy. Even on Tuesday, she met her brother at the school around 3:00 pm and appeared normal. We got a shock in the evening when we were told that she was dead.”
The victim’s two other siblings also study in the same school.
