Gurugram: 3-year-old Girl Raped by Father; Accused Arrested After Wife Returns Home to Find Blood-stained Sheets

The incident dates back to October 28 night when the mother of the victim left the house following a quarrel with her husband. She went to her relatives place with her one-year-old daughter and left the elder in the house.

Gurugram: A man was arrested on Friday in Gurugram for allegedly raping his three-year-old daughter. He has been booked under POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The development came after the accused’s wife registered a complaint with the police after finding the minor victim in an unconscious state on returning home.

The incident dates back to October 28 night when the mother of the victim left the house following a quarrel with her husband. She went to her relatives place with her one-year-old daughter and left the elder in the house.

Finding the girl alone, the accused, who was in an inebriated state, raped her and fled from the spot. The minor was found lying unconscious on bed sheet stained with blood by her mother who returned home the next day, around 10 AM.

A case was registered against the man, a resident of Kansganj in Uttar Pradesh, on the basis of woman’s complaint, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shamsher Singh was quoted as saying in a PTI report.

“The girl was taken to a hospital. Doctors of the hospital confirmed sexual assault after medical checkup. The victim’s condition was critical and hence, she was referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital,” he added.
