Gurugram (Haryana), May 30: A 30-year-old was allegedly abducted from a Gurugram mall by five men, taken to a Vasant Kunj guesthouse and gangraped on Monday night. The woman somehow managed to escape from the guesthouse, reached Vasant Kunj police station with the help of her friend at around 4:30 AM and registered the case. All of the five men have been arrested.

The incident was reported on Monday night at around 11 PM when the woman was looking for a transport to go back home. The five men stopped by and offered to drop her at her place. When she refused to take the help, the men dragged her into the car and drove away.

The accused men took the woman to a Vasant Kunj guesthouse and took turns to gangrape her. The men then left her and locked the door from outside. Two of the accused are said to be cab drivers. All the accused are said to be residents of Haryana and work in Delhi. The accused have been identified as Tejvir Singh, Gopal Prasad, Roopinder, Anshul and Ram Babu.

Her cries were heard by a cook who opened the bolt of her door and let her out. One of the accused, however, saw her escaping and tried to catch her. The woman hit the man with a rod which she had managed to get her hands on. She then called done of her friends who took her to Vasant Kunj police station.

Confirming the incident, DCP (southwest) Milind Dumbere told Times of India that a case has been registered under IPC sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 376D (punishment for gang rape).

In another incident, a 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for raping a 16-year-old girl with whom he had become friends on Facebook, a social media network. The sexual assault came to light when the girl fell ill and was later discovered to be pregnant.
