New Delhi: The wife and son of an additional district and sessions court judge in Gurugram were shot at by his official gunman in Sector 49 on Saturday. The accused has been arrested by the police.
As per the police, the gunman, after opening fire at the two and leaving them injured, fled with the rifle and the car. Later, he reached Sadar police station and fired at the officials there. The gunman, identified as Mahipal, has been posted with the judge, Krishna Kant Sharma, for the past one-and-a-half year, a report quoting police officials claimed.
Meanwhile, the woman and her son, identified as Ritu (38) and Dhruv (18), have been admitted to Medanta Hospital for treatment. Both are said to be in a critical state. If the police is to be believed, the gunman is reportedly suffering from depression.
The incident reportedly occurred around 3.30 PM when the mother-son duo had gone for shopping in the Arcadia market. “Some locals informed the police about gunshots being fired outside the Arcadia market. When a police team reached the spot, they found Ritu and Dhruv lying in a pool of blood,” DCP-East Sulochna Gajraj was quoted as saying. She also added that the woman has suffered bullet injury in her chest while her son was shot at in the head.
The forensic team has reached the spot of the incident. A probe has been launched into the case.
