Gurugram: A three-year-old was allegedly raped and tortured before being brutally murdered in Haryana’s Gurugram on Sunday. Her mutilated and naked body with head crushed was found lying in a pool of blood in a room in Sector 66 – just 300 metres from her house.

Reports suggest that the minor was lured away from outside her house by a 20-year-old construction labourer who promised to buy her a chocolate.

A wooden stick was found inserted in her private parts during the post-mortem. Not only her head was smashed with a stone, but several injury marks were also found on her body.

The child’s parents hail from Bengal who came to Gurugram to earn a living. They live in a slum in Sector 66 that is inhabited by many labourers. The girl’s body was found in a nearby cowshed.

According to police, the three-year-old was playing outside her home when she was lured away by her attacker. When her parents returned from work on Sunday work, they found their child missing.

Searching for her late into the night, they filed a police complaint on Monday morning.

One of the neighbours found the girl dead in the fodder rooms of the cowshed. Informed about the dead body, Sector 65 police station and a forensic team rushed to the spot.

The accused – an alcohol addict – has been identified as Sunil Kumar who is a resident of Naugaon village in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. He came to the city a week ago in search of job and was staying with his two sisters in the same locality.

A case has been registered at Sector 65 police station under Section 302 (murder) of IPC and Section 4 (sexual assault) of the POCSO Act. The police have formed four teams to track down the accused.
