New Delhi: An FIR was registered against Robert Vadra, son-in-law of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in connection with alleged Gurugram grab case on Saturday. Former Haryana chief minister BS Hooda, DLF Company and Onkareshwar Properties Pvt. Ltd (The company that sold land in village Shikohpur in Haryana to Vadra) were also named in the FIR, which was filed on the complaint of Surendra Sharma, a resident of Mewat.

The case was registered under IPC section 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B, 13 PC Act at Kherki Daula Police Station, Gurugram.

Reacting to the development, Vadra said,”It’s election season, there has been an increase in oil prices so the government just thought let us divert the real issues that affect people with Robert Vadra’s decade old issue. Whats new in this.”

On the other hand, BJP called it a fight against corruption. “This is not a personal fight, this is our collective fight against corruption. BJP govt in state & center does not tolerate corruption at any cost, BJP leader Jawahar Yadav stated.

Notably, the FIR comes couple of days after Vadra in an exclusive interview to news agency had defended himself saying various allegations against him of being part of fraudulent land deals are baseless. “I am right here in the country. I have not escaped to a foreign country, have I? If there are any questions and queries, I would oblige with it,”Vadra had said.
