Headley admitted that he was trying to organise a fund raising programme for Shiv Sena in the USA and planned to invite the former late Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray to it with no plans to attack him there. Earlier, Headley had said that they had attempted to kill Thackeray. However, he admitted that the plans for American were just for the fund raising programme. He also said that he was in touch with former Shiv Sena worker Rajaram Rege for it. After knowing that Thackeray was ill, he cancelled to send the invitation. He was asked questions related to the facilities he is getting in prison like food, AC and conjugal access etc. The court took on record that the ‘defence lawyer is crossing his limits in cross examination and trying to direct the court that what the court should do.’ Headley also said that it was not true that he is living a luxurious life in the prison in America.
