New Delhi: The Ambassador-Designate of Norway Hans Jacob Frydenlund on Wednesday presented his credentials to the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, stated news agency ANI. With the completion of all the formalities, Frydenlund officially took charge as the Norwegian Ambassador to India on September 25.

According to Royal Norwegian Embassy in India, after presenting the credentials Ambassador Frydenlund said: “Norway and India have strong and deep bilateral ties. Our cooperation, especially in the fields of the oceans, energy, climate and environment, research and global health is extremely important and growing.”He added that India’s geopolitical role, population, coastline, and economy make the country a significant partner for Norway.

Further, Frydenlund was quoted by the Royal Norwegian Embassy as saying, “I am looking forward to working with the government of India so this relationship can gain even further strength and momentum. I look forward to my tenure in India, which I am sure will also be filled with great experiences of India’s rich culture and diversity.”

The other envoys who presented their credentials to President Kovind at the ceremony were Katrin Kivi from Estonia, Claudio Ansorena Montero from Costa Rica, Godfrey Majnoni Chipare from Zimbabwe, Brendan Ward from Ireland, stated a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique.
