Haryana Budget 2018 Highlights: Captain Abhimanyu Presents Rs 1.15 Lakh Crore Budget, Proposes Cashless Medical Service Scheme

Chandigarh, Mar 9: The Haryana Budget 2018 as presented by state Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu today in the state assembly. Captain Abhimanyu proposed a Budget of Rs 1,15,198 crore for Haryana, which is 12.6 per cent more than last year. No new tax proposal has been announced in Haryana Budget 2018-19. Captain Abhimanyu announced initiatives like cashless medical service scheme and asset management cell in Haryana Budget 2018. He announced that the state government was working on a 3-year action plan and 7-year strategy plan to implement sustainable development goals. Rs 44,911.16 crore has been allotted for meeting these goals.

The revenue receipt has been raised to Rs 76,933 crore. This includes tax realisation of Rs 49,131 crore and non-tax revenue of Rs 11,302 crore. Captain Abhimanyu has also announced to allocate Rs 100 crore for completion of the construction of SYL canal. He said that his government is committed to constructing the SYL even if it costs Rs 1,000 crore.

Captain Abhimanyu allocated Rs 4097.46 crore for agriculture and allied activities. He also proposed setting up of Haryana Kisan Kalyan Pradhikaran to make agriculture more remunerative. An outlay of Rs 3,222.21 crore has been proposed for irrigation and water resources, which is up by 20.01 per cent from revised estimates of 2017-18.

The Haryana Finance Minister has proposed to establish Murrah Research and Skill Development Centre at Narnaund in Hisar district. He also proposed to adopt sexed semen technology on massive scale in the state to make Haryana stray-bull free.

An outlay of 657.94 crore has been proposed for skill development and industrial training department in Haryana, Rs 4,769.61 crore has been allocated to health. An allocation of Rs 4301.88 crore has been proposed for rural development and community development and panchayat.
