Rewari (Haryana): Mother of 19-year-old girl, the former CBSE exam topper who was gangraped on Thursday evening by 12 men in Mahendragarh, alleged that no action has been taken by the police. Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” slogan, the victim’s mother said, “PM Modi says Beti Bachao Beti Padhao but how do we do that? I want justice for my daughter. Police have taken no action yet.”

The 19-year-old girl college student, who topped CBSE exams from Haryana and was felicitated by President Ram Nath Kovind, was on Thursday allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by a group of men in Haryana’s Mahendragarh district. The victim, in her complaint, said that she was picked up by two boys who belong to her village.

“They took her to a nearby place, gave her a drink after which she couldn’t regain her consciousness. When she got up, she saw there was 1 more boy,” ADGP Operations AS Chawla said. The girl, in her complaint, also said that some men who were already present in the field also raped her. The accused then threw her at a bus stop and called her parents to tell them about her location.

“They dropped her back and called parents to tell them about her location. FIR registered, 3 accused named in FIR. We are after the 3 accused to arrest them. Medical of the victim has been done,” Chawla added. The woman in her complaint said that all the men belong to her village. The girl has reportedly named all the 12 people involved in gangraping her.

Reacting to the gangrape of the teen, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “Law will take its own course and whoever is found guilty will be punished.”

The parents of the girl alleged that the police refused to file an FIR against the accused men. They also alleged that they were threatened by the accused against pursuing the matter. The police, however, said that a zero FIR has been filed and the Mahendergarh police are investigating the matter.
