Hate Speech: Delhi HC Seeks Centre, Kejriwal Govt Response on Plea Seeking FIR Against Gandhis

Apart from registration of FIRs, the petition also seeks setting up of a Special Investigation Team to look into the alleged hate speeches.

Hate Speech: Delhi HC Seeks Centre, Kejriwal Govt Response on Plea Seeking FIR Against Gandhis

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notices to the Centre and Delhi government on a plea seeking lodging of an FIR against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandh and Priyanka Vadra for allegedly giving hate speeches.  The bench sought replies from the respondents and listed the matter for April 13 hearing.

A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar issued notice to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi government and police on the plea which also seeks registration of an FIR against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, AIMIM leaders Waris Pathan and Akbaruddin Owaisi.

Besides, the Delhi HC also issued notice to Centre on another plea filed by an advocate seeking FIR against social activist Harsh Mander, RJ Sayema,Swara Bhaskar, Amantullah Khan(AAP Party)  under appropriate IPCs and IT Act and directions to NIA to conduct an investigation into Delhi violence.

Apart from registration of FIRs, the petition also seeks setting up of a Special Investigation Team to look into the alleged hate speeches.
