Gujarat, July 29: Continuous rains in Gujarat have created havoc in the state. 22 people have been killed in the floods. Incessant rains have been caused by a deep depression which lashed northern and Kutch regions of Gujarat. (READ: Heavy rains create flood situations in Rajasthan; rescue teams reach out)
A WhatsApp message says that India’s cyclone has already started in Kandla District of Gujarat. It also says that it is the heaviest rainfall in Kutch after 18 years. There are also high zone alerts in Kutch and Kandla region is one among them. The message also which claims to be from the Gujarat Government reads, “Gujarat is in under high alert… Please don’t go anywhere till tomorrow 5PM. Stay at your home.”
National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached out to the affected and save around 53 stranded people. State Police teams were also sent to Banaskantha in north Gujarat in the view of flood-like situation. Fishermen in the state has also been warned from going into the sea.
