New Delhi, April 9: The Prime Minister foreign tours are always tight scheduled and in order to match the charismatic energy of Narendra Modi, bureaucrats are always seen running around him. But, often it is questioned how and from where Modi gets this energy even during his foreign schedules and when did he gets the time for sleep!

Meeting the delegates in a short period and finalising deals during his foreign tours has been the forte of Narendra Modi and he has been appraised worldwide for his remarkable achievements. Even his counterparts in the countries Modi visits are amazed at his time management skills. ALSO READ: Narendra Modi asks scientists to find solutions to common people’s problems through technology

The success behind Modi’s foreign trips is time management and his sleep hours, which mostly gets fulfilled in his flight during travelling. This secret was revealed during his recent three-day tour to Brussels-Washington DC-Riyadh in March-end last month. As per to the officials, Modi’s luggages were not taken out for most part of his trip and was kept inside the Air India One only. This not only shortened his trips, but the made his engagements worthwhile.

Speaking to ET, a senior official revealed this secret by saying, “It is unprecedented to complete a PM’s multi-nation trip involving US in just 97 hours. If the PM had not chosen to sleep on the plane, we would not have been back for at least six days”. Compared to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s 52 countries’ tour in 32 trips in his UPA-1 and UPA-2 terms, Modi in just two years have visited 40 countries in his 20 trips. The official added that the motive behind Modi’s decision is to save “unproductive night stay in foreign hotels” and use it for air travel.

Sharing more information, the senior official added that he Modi planned to take a midnight flight on March 30 to Brussels, thereby reaching a the destination at 6 am and taking rest all through the 9-hour flight. Soon after his work in Brussels was over, he took the 12-hour flight for Washington at 10 pm on March 31. Spending the entire day at the Nuclear Summit, he again took a 12-hour flight straight to Riyadh at 7 pm on April 1 and spent the day on April 2 as scheduled. Soon after the engagements were over, he chose to take a flight on the same day and finally reached Race Course Road at 2 am.

With continuous trips like these, Modi has yet again proved that spending time and money effectively can yield to better results both economically and enhance country’s reputation too. To quote the Modi’s wish and schedule, a senior bureaucrat says “Modi says he wants to push maximum buttons…he has unending energy”. Asked about the jet-lag and tiredness, the official adds, “Before jet lag hits reverse jet lag comes into force”.
