New Delhi: One person died and nine were injured after a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge on Sunday. The incident took place near Gulaba on Manali-Rohtang road in Himachal Pradesh. More details are awaited.

Injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital for the treatment. The rescue operation has been started.

In a similar incident, 13 people, including four women, died after a jeep fell into a deep gorge. The incident took place near Sanali, 3 kilometres from Kuddu on Tiyuni road in Shimla.

In August, at least 11 people died after a car rolled down a hill near Rohtang at Rani Nallah, in Kullu district. In an earlier incident, at least 33 university staffers were killed when a bus on a picnic trip fell into a deep gorge near Poladpur, around 175 km from Mumbai. There were 34 people travelling on the bus, and only one person could manage to survive.
