Shimla, Dec 18: The Congress party registered a victory on three out of five seats in Solan district after Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections results 2017 were declared. The grand old party retained Solan Assembly seat and snatched Arki and Nalagarh seats from the BJP. Cheif Minister Virbhadra Singh won from Arki seat. The Kasauli and Doon Assembly seats went to the BJP after counting for Himachal Pradesh Assembly election results concluded. Virbhadhra Singh, who left his traditional Shimla rural seat for his son Vikramaditya Singh, defeated BJP’s Rattan Singh Pal in Arki constituency. In 2012 Himachal Pradesh polls, BJP’s Govind Ram Sharma was elected as an MLA from Arki. Congress candidate Dhani Ram Shandil retained Sonal Assembly seat for the party. Congress Lakhvinder Singh Rana won against BJP’s sitting MLA Krishan Lal Thakur in Nalagarh constituency. In Kasauli, BJP’s Rajiv Saizal registered a victory for the third time. BJP’s Paramjeet Singh defeated Congress candidate Ram Kumar in Doon. Ram Kumar defeated BJP’s Darshan Singh by about 4,000 votes in 2012 Himachal Pradesh polls.
