Mandi: Five people, reportedly Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, were on Sunday killed and one was left injured as the car they were travelling in rolled down a 300-metre-deep gorge in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
The accident, reported from Shiva Thana area of Seraj Valley in the district, happened as the driver lost control over the vehicle. He is injured in the incident and admitted to hospital.
The victims were en route to attend Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur’s election meeting in his home constituency of Seraj when the accident happened, reported IANS.
Informing about the incident, Gurdev Sharma, SP Mandi, said, “Five people dead and one was injured after a car rolled down a deep gorge at Shiva thana area of Seraj Valley in Mandi district, today. Injured has been admitted to hospital.”
