New Delhi, March 9: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presented the state Budget 2018-19 on Friday. Speaking in the Assembly while presenting Himachal Pradesh Budget 2018-19, Thakur, who also holds the finance portfolio, targeted his opponents and said “few people are amazed seeing me at the CM post but they haven’t seen the blisters on my legs”. Blaming the previous Congress government of putting huge pressure on state exchequer, Thakur claimed that the Virbhadra Singh government took loans worth Rs 18787 crore for which an interest amounting to Rs 13500 crore will have to be paid by the BJP government. Highlights of Himachal Pradesh Budget 2018-19:

*Electricity rate for agriculture reduced from Re 1 per unit to 73 paise per unit.

*Rs 277 crore allocated for 111 small irrigation projects across the state.

*New projects worth Rs 50 crore proposed for Kangra and Nadaun.

*Focus on doubling the income of farmers.

*Zero Budget farming project to help 39 thousand farmers in organic farming. Government to organise training camps in universities.

*Govt to give subsidy of 60 per cent on anti-hail guns.

*Subsidy under Mukhyamantri Green House Scheme raised to 75 per cent from previous 50 per cent.

*Vidhayak Nidhi fund to be raised from Rs 1.10 crore to Rs 1.35 crore.

*Government has proposed to construct community hall in every Assembly constituency.
